ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES : Serves as the Finance Department lead in the absence of the Finance Director. Oversees day-to-day accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight, cash management, and financial reporting. Maintains accurate financial records and ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Establishes, maintains, and monitors internal controls and accounting procedures designed to safeguard organizational assets. Oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including account reconciliations and preparation of financial reports. Maintains the general ledger and related accounting systems. Assists in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and other financial analyses. Coordinates internal and external audits and serves as the primary point of contact for auditors. Supports tax reporting requirements, insurance audits, bond covenant compliance, and other regulatory reporting obligations. Partners with the Finance Director and department leaders in the development, monitoring, and forecasting of operating and capital budgets. Reviews budget variances and provides financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making. Meets regularly with department leaders to review financial performance, expenditures, and budget status. Provides guidance, mentoring, training, and support to Finance Department team members while promoting cross-training and operational continuity. Maintains appropriate documentation and record retention practices related to financial transactions and reporting QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required. CPA designation preferred but not required. Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including financial reporting, general ledger management, budgeting, and internal controls. Experience supervising accounting processes and/or finance personnel preferred. Experience in healthcare, senior living, nonprofit, or similarly regulated environments preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Proficiency with financial management systems, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. High degree of integrity, professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail.
