Department The Mississippi Lab serves as a humanities laboratory for theuniversity, the state, and the region. Three projects – GreenfieldFarm Writers Residency, Staff Creative Residencies, and FacultyLaureates – drive creative enterprise and content production,spanning disciplines, demographics, and geographies. GreenfieldFarm Writers Residency, the newest of these projects, is set toopen in late 2027 on the site of William Faulkner’s onetime mulefarm. Job Summary Researches, designs, and implements marketing and public relationsstrategies that further departmental goals and amplify departmentalcommunications Job Description Researches, develops and grows marketing and public relationsplans based on research and departmental goals Develops, implements, and disseminates public relations andmarketing materials through a wide variety of communication mediumsutilizing appropriate technologies and techniques Identifies and exploits pathways of communication with theaudiences we serve Edits and polishes the marketing and communications work ofoutside collaborators Establishes and maintains the tenor and aesthetics ofdepartmental communications Leverages narrative techniques to inspire actions in consumersof departmental communications Job Responsibilities Research, craft, and share stories that compel action on behalf ofGreenfield Farm Writers Residency and other Mississippi Labinitiatives.
