About the Position

Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Therapy Specialty: HRHC Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Tuesday through Saturday Hours per Shift: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Experience: Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience License: Occupational Therapy License Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: - Patient transfers experience - Knowledge of body mechanics - Ability to design appropriate care plans - Proficiency in patient examination - Experience in patient screening Description: The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients of all ages. The therapist serves as a role model in the delivery of professional services. The therapist acts as a clinical resource for staff and students. Demonstrates the ability to perform patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair, and floor. If applicable, the therapist is aware of and demonstrates safe and appropriate body mechanics to reduce the risk of injury. Designs an appropriate plan of care that integrates goals, treatments, outcomes, and discharge plans. Adjusts care based on patient response and available evidence. Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using relevant and effective teaching methods. Evaluates clinical findings to determine therapy diagnoses and outcomes of care. Performs examinations, selecting reliable and valid examination methods relevant to the chief complaint, results of screening, and history. Screens patients using procedures to determine the effectiveness of and need for further therapy services, if appropriate. Uses support personnel according to legal standards and ethical guidelines. Monitors the care delivered by support personnel and provides regular feedback. Documents evaluations and plans of care according to department policy including goals, modification of treatment plans, and patients' responses. If applicable, completes annual education as assigned to comply with any relevant program requirements. Evaluates and treats patients as necessary. Designs an appropriate plan of care and documents care accordingly.
