Senior Associate, Manufacturing Engineer

Job Title and Details Manufacturing Engineer (Job Code: 37441) – Rochester, New York – 9/80 schedule (Every other Friday off). Responsibilities Perform tasks in a manufacturing and/or prototyping environment. Review and provide feedback on electro‑mechanical and opto‑mechanical drawings and designs. Translate drawing requirements into detailed work instructions for the assembly, integration, and testing of complex end‑products. Coordinate with various disciplines to ensure program schedule milestones are met. Own product schedule development – coordinate across disciplines to achieve stakeholder agreement. Troubleshoot issues individually and collaboratively to find quick and safe solutions that minimize schedule delays. Balance multiple projects and priorities and communicate clearly to operations leadership. Maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation. Adhere to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practices. Be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed. Strong communication skills. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience; graduate degree or equivalent with 0‑2 years of experience; or minimum of 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree. 0‑4 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing and/or prototyping environment. Ability to obtain a federal security clearance. Preferred Additional Skills Experience in the aerospace or defense industry. Familiarity with machinery, machine building, and precision engineering. Experience with optical metrology. Cables and electronics board experience. Knowledge of mechanical builds and tolerances, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Compensation & Benefits Salary range in New York: $63,500 – $117,500.
