Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Chicago Metro $65-75K DOE + generous bonus and benefit package If you have a minimum of three years of General Accounting experience with an eye for detail and a team-focused attitude, you could be an ideal match for this position. Responsibilities Maintain the general ledger and accurately record financial transactions. Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities. Perform bank reconciliations and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date. Support budgeting processes and oversee payroll-related activities, invoice processing, and payment tracking. Prepare financial reports and provide insights on budgets, revenue, expenditures, and outstanding obligations. Review financial data and transactions to ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting procedures. Investigate and resolve account discrepancies and financial variances. Maintain organized financial documentation and records using accounting and database management systems. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, along with at least 3 years of accounting experience. Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and practices. Understanding of GAAP and standard accounting procedures. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with accounting and ERP systems. Sage Preferred- Experience with additional accounting software platforms is a plus.
