Coordinator, Music Business Affairs

Job Overview The Business Affairs Coordinator (BAC) will handle administrative tasks for the Music Business Affairs (MBA) Department, supporting attorneys in Los Angeles, New York, Nashville and London. The role involves drafting legal letters, assisting with contract review, managing the MBA database, and fielding inquiries through the MBA department’s email. This position is based in Nashville, TN. Responsibilities Review and compare touring, domestic and international performance agreements and related documents. Draft legal letters such as demand, breach, cancellation, artist indemnity, letters of direction, cease & desist and release of monies letters. Aggregate information and maintain spreadsheets documenting cancelled events. Liaise between MBA and IT regarding the Music Booking System (MusicFX). Serve as the initial contact for agent teams regarding contract templates, negotiated Terms & Conditions (T&C) templates, contract wording and general inquiries. Manage the negotiated T&C master list and T&C uploads/updates in MusicFX and other internal platforms. Respond to general inquiries received at the MBA email address. Liaise with Accounting, Fairs & Festivals and International Festivals to gather, organize, and track information related to cancelled events. Fill out the weekly festival cancellation terms database for distribution to relevant agents. Manage BAC department scheduling, weekly BAC meetings, new hire training and departmental documents. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications Minimum one year of experience in a corporate setting. Preferable experience with live events, contracts, contract administration and legal terminology. Proficient in Excel, Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro (including editing and legal redlines). Extremely attentive to detail and self‑motivated. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for handling varied personalities and sensitive situations. Professionalism, tact, and commitment to confidentiality. Strong task management, prioritization, and deadline‑meeting abilities. Analytical, writing and organizational skills. Compensation Base salary: $62,000 plus bonus potential. Compensation depends on factors such as market dynamics, location, experience, and role responsibility.
