Headquartered in St. Cloud, MN, we employ over 1,800 team members across the Midwest and continue to grow while maintaining a strong focus on safety, service, and reliability.Job SummaryThe Warehouse Assistant Manager will support daily warehouse operations and staff in the day-to-day activities to ensure timely, safe and efficient operations.Hours and WagesAvailable Shifts:Monday - Friday 1:00PM startMonday - Friday 5:00PM startMonday - Friday 11:00PM startMay be expected to cover variable shifts based on business needs Voluntary OT on weekends (as needed) Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per weekStarting wage: $26.00- 30.00 per hour, based on experience, plus shift differential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport salaried managers with day-to-day warehouse and operationsPerform hands-on warehouse and operational tasks during peak periods and provide route coverage as needed.Support the tracking, preparation, and maintenance of department reportsHelp promote and support compliance with safety, DOT, and company policiesMonitor warehouse activity, attendance, and productivity; report concerns or trends to managementSupport trailer cuts and freight flow to ensure timely branch deliveriesWork alongside warehouse leadership to help resolve employee issues and escalate concerns as appropriatelyParticipate in weekly meetingsSupport training activities, onboarding, and job shadowing as directedAssistant in parking and fueling the vehiclesMay serve as a lead or point of contact for employees during assigned shifts when management is unavailableTravel may be requiredPerform other duties as assignedSkills and AbilitiesAbility to work collaboratively with warehouse staff, drivers, and operations leadershipStrong communication and interpersonal skillsWorking knowledge of transportation, warehouse, and DOT regulationsAbility to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational skills with attention to detailDependable, safety-focused, and professional work ethicProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareEducation and ExperienceAt least 21 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate's degree in Business, Logistics, Operations, or related field preferredMust hold a valid CDL Class A license or successfully complete a company-paid CDL training program within 90 days of employmentPrior experience in transportation, warehouse, or logistics operations preferred1+ years of leadership experience preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to pass a DOT physical examAbility to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionallyAbility to work with all types of freight, including hazardous materials, perishable foods and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animalsBenefitsHealth Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) Plan, Quarterly Bonuses, and more.EEO and Affirmative Action StatementSpee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
