Architectural Project Coordinator

About the Role Architectural Project Coordinator to support the design, production, and construction administration of multifamily projects. The position reports directly to the Director of Architectural Production and works within the Architectural Production Studio coordinating design efforts across all project phases. Responsibilities Project Coordination: Support the Architectural Project Manager in coordinating multiple projects from schematic design to construction administration, tracking schedules, deliverables, and coordination items, organizing coordination meetings, page turns, and design reviews. Design and Documentation: Assist in producing and coordinating schematic design (SD), design development (DD), and construction documents (CD) using a kit of parts approach. Construction Administration: Support the CA department with RFI inquiries. Team Coordination: Coordinate with external consultants (civil, MEP, interior designers, contractors) to support cohesive delivery and assist senior staff in managing communication and follow‑up across disciplines. Teamwork: Work closely with Senior Project Manager, Studio Director, and CA Studio Director to support staffing, workflow, and phase transitions. JPI Departments: Collaborate with internal design, development, investment, pre‑construction, and construction teams to integrate architectural design requirements into overall project planning. Quality Control: Assist with internal quality reviews to ensure drawing sets align with building codes, JPI standards, and construction requirements, tracking implementation of value engineering, accessibility, and waterproofing comments. Client and Stakeholder Management: Support project communication by preparing materials, tracking responses, and documenting decisions for clear communication between internal teams and external partners. Resource Management: Track project timelines, consultant deliverables, and internal deadlines; assist with workload coordination as directed by the Director of Design. Innovation and Problem‑Solving: Contribute creative solutions and innovative approaches, address design challenges throughout the lifecycle. Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on trends, technologies, and best practices in multifamily architecture and construction. Pre‑Development / Conceptual Design Phase: Assist with site plan and elevation review, kit of parts evaluation, concept set review, and visual communication. Provide feedback and markups. Schematic Design Phase: Support civil coordination, third‑party consultant integration, unit layout approvals, SD set delivery in Revit, and Value Engineering review. Development Phase: Assist in DD reviews, markups, integration of Value Engineering, design coordination, and documentation feedback. Construction Documents Phase: Coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP inputs, organize CD pageturn meetings, and track permits, GMP set support. Permit & GMP Set Support: Assist in preparing and organizing CD sets for permit and GMP pricing issuance. IFC Set & Pre‑construction: Verify that permit, accessibility, waterproofing, and coordination comments are incorporated into the final IFC set. Construction Administration: Assist the CA team with RFI & submittal assistance, design intent support, and construction issue support. Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. 3–7 years of experience in architectural production or project coordination, preferably with multifamily projects. Proficiency in Revit; experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Bluebeam Revu preferred. Familiarity with Procore or similar project management platforms. Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. Working knowledge of zoning regulations, building codes, and construction documentation standards. Strong communication, organization, and coordination skills.
