Make a difference in the lives of K-12 students by bringing your expertise as a Physical Therapist to an educational setting near Dekalb, IL. This rewarding contract opportunity spans the full school year, with immediate start available, supporting students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. The position offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, creating consistent engagement with students while allowing you to foster meaningful progress and development throughout the academic year.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Illinois
- Experience or strong interest in working with the K-12 population
- Knowledge of school-based therapy practices and IEP development
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated ability to adapt therapy plans for diverse student needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver physical therapy services to students across elementary, middle, and high school settings
- Conduct assessments and observations to inform individualized treatment plans
- Participate as an active member of IEP teams, contributing expert insight for student support
- Design and implement therapy activities that correspond with educational goals
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to promote students' access to the curriculum
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed throughout the school year
