The Recreation Therapist develops and administers therapeutic groups that enhance the patients' physical, cognitive, social, psychological and emotional well being. The Recreation Therapist II acts as an advanced clinician for the department. Provides recreation therapy services to mental health clients. Performs additional assignments for the department.Requires Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation and Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification.**Job Description**Administers patient evaluation and treatment employing recreation therapy procedures and interventions. Develops and administers therapeutic groups to serve the patient population. Develops and implements treatment plan in collaboration with treatment team and patient. Schedules patients, maintains written and verbal communication regarding patient and departmental concerns. Submits accurate billing information. Participates in teaching, including annual inservice to peers. Participates as a clinical instructor for students. Acts as advanced clinician for the department precepting other staff and sharing clinical expertise with other department members. Completes a pre-approved interdisciplinary project for the department. Promotes and contributes to all sanitary and housekeeping policies which are designed to maintain the cleanliness and readiness of all clinic and general staff areas. Participates with department and unit quality improvement activities.**Minimum Qualifications**Must hold active certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (or be eligible for and actively seeking certification) Minimum of 18 months of acute care or inpatient hospital experience.
