Accountant I

Job DescriptionThe Accountant I is responsible for assisting with various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established financial policies and procedures.Reports to: Divisional Controller - Corporate AccountingDirect Reports: NoneDuties/Responsibilities: The duties listed below are an outline of the Accountant I’s responsibilities and should not be considered an all-inclusive list. As the needs of the organization change, these duties may be modified as needed.Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Record and reconcile financial transactions in the general ledger.Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment collections.Perform bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and information.Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.Support the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings.Assist in various ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks as needed.Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.0-2 years of accounting experience.Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities.Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
