Staff Geologist

Southwest Critical Materials LLC (“SCM”) owns the Pumpkin Hollow copper asset in Nevada, comprising an operating underground mine, a large-scale open pit development, and associated infrastructure. SCM is backed by Kinterra Capital Corp., a Canada-based private equity firm focused on upstream critical minerals and infrastructure essential to the global energy transition. SCM is advancing Pumpkin Hollow through a brownfield restart and expansion, with a strong emphasis on regulatory discipline, environmental stewardship, and execution certainty under tight timelines. General Overview The Staff Geologist works closely with the Geology Team to support surface and exploration programs through drill-rig check-ins, geologic and geotechnical logging, mapping, drilling daily-report reconciliation, data management, and technical support for exploration activities. Pumpkin Hollow is entering a new chapter under new ownership and operational leadership. Located near Yerington in one of Nevada’s established mining regions, Pumpkin Hollow offers the opportunity to work on a significant copper asset and contribute directly to its long‑term development. The Staff Geologist is an individual contributor who reports to the Chief Geologist and works collaboratively with the broader Geology Team. The role plays an important part in supporting the team’s operational and exploration objectives and contributing to the overall success of the project. Essential Functions Conduct daily check‑ins at drill rigs and support drill supervision in accordance with established procedures Conduct surface and drill‑core geological and geotechnical mapping and data collection Log diamond drill core and maintain accurate geological and geotechnical records Reconcile and support approval of drilling daily reports (DDRs) and associated records Enter, validate, and maintain exploration, drilling, mapping, and sampling data in the geological database Work with Exploration, Mine Geology, Technical Services, Operations, laboratories, contractors, and other departments as needed Assist with geological interpretations, studies, and exploration projects; perform other tasks as required in support of company objectives Help plan and coordinate surface exploration drilling programs, including drill sequencing, site preparation, access, scheduling, and logistical requirements. Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring drilling and field activities comply with company policies, MSHA requirements, site procedures, and applicable regulations; identify and communicate hazards Experience and Training Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology 2-5 years of professional experience in mining, resource development or exploration geology Surface exploration, resource definition or drilling exposure preferred Experience with logging diamond drill core and rock‑chip samples including the accurate recording of lithology, alteration, mineralization, structure, and geotechnical characteristics Drilling program management and coordination and other contractor management is highly regarded. Familiarity with mineralized systems, rock alteration, and geologic and structural mapping Experience with skarn and base metals systems preferred Strong understanding of mining operations and drill techniques Capable of utilizing latest computer & software technologies such as Microsoft office products, acQuire GIM Suite, and 3D software such as Leapfrog, Deswik Skills and Abilities Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals and groups and contractors Excellent oral and written communication skills and active listening skills Effective analytical skills Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of internal employees and external stakeholders Highly effective organizational skills Ability to communicate effectively in one‑on‑one, small and large group settings Ability to take initiative and work independently in a results‑oriented environment Strong commitment to hazard identification, risk management, and compliance with MSHA and site safety requirements Proficiency in geological data collection, validation, QA/QC, and record management #J-18808-Ljbffr Kinterra Professional Services Group
