We are seeking an experienced Estate Planning & Probate Paralegal to join a busy and fast-paced legal team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience handling probate and estate planning matters from inception through completion, while maintaining excellent organization, attention to detail, and client service skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare routine probate documents, including:

  • Applications to probate wills as muniment of title

  • Applications to probate wills and for issuance of letters testamentary

  • Applications to determine heirship

  • Applications for administration

  • Proofs of death and other facts

  • Orders admitting wills to probate

  • Oaths of executor

• Prepare and file probate inventories and related documents

• Draft standard incapacity documents, including:

  • Statutory durable powers of attorney

  • Medical powers of attorney

  • Guardian designations

  • Directives to physicians

• Prepare and file guardianship documents, including applications, ad litem answers, orders, and related filings

• File documents with courts through electronic filing systems

• Coordinate and schedule court hearings

• Prepare and file hearing confirmation letters

• Proofread trusts, wills, and other estate planning documents

• Draft engagement letters, estate planning summary letters, transmittal letters, trusts, and wills using firm templates and attorney direction

• Maintain and organize client files and case documentation

• Assist attorneys in managing matters through completion while proactively advancing workflow

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in Estate Planning and Probate

• Strong understanding of probate, guardianship, and estate planning procedures

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters simultaneously

• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail

• Strong drafting and proofreading skills

• Professional demeanor and polished communication skills

• Comfortable working with high-net-worth individuals

• Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment

• Experience with WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, Excel, PracticeMaster, and Tabs preferred

• Additional legal software experience is a plus
