Job Details Job Location: Des Moines, IA 50314 Position Type: Full Time Shift: FT 6AM - 6PM or 6PM - 6AM Sign On Bonus: $5,000 Job Summary As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will oversee the health and well‑being of residents, implement care plans, and provide expert nursing care in a collaborative environment. You will support a compassionate culture and strive to improve resident outcomes. Duties & Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of residents’ health status, including physical, mental, and emotional well‑being. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on residents’ needs and goals. Monitor health conditions, document changes, and communicate findings to physicians and the care team. Administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with medical orders. Provide wound care, IV therapy, and other advanced treatments as needed. Perform routine medical procedures (vitals, injections, dressing wounds) per protocol. Supervise and support nursing staff (CNAs, LPNs); provide guidance and training. Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with leadership to maintain optimal resident care. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the healthcare team. Educate residents and families on care plans, treatment options, and preventive health measures. Coordinate care with physicians, dietitians, social workers, and other professionals. Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date medical records in compliance with regulations. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and state/federal regulations. Participate in care audits and quality improvement reviews. Respond to medical emergencies promptly, provide immediate interventions, and stabilize residents. Qualifications Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing program. Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa. CPR and First Aid certification (or obtain upon hire). Additional certifications (e.g., wound care, IV therapy) may be required or preferred. Previous experience in a nursing role, preferably in long‑term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric settings. Experience in supervisory roles and leadership is a plus.
