Assistant Director, Graduate Admissions

Job Overview The George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs (ESIA) is one of the world’s leading schools of international affairs and one of the largest in the United States. The Assistant Director, Graduate Admissions will execute a comprehensive recruiting strategy in national markets, manage data, and represent the university at events to support enrollment projections. Responsibilities Execute a data‑driven recruitment strategy in national markets, ensuring all events are developed and marketed through Slate CRM. Serve as primary national recruiter, attending recruitment fairs, hosting coffee chats, and information sessions. Perform initial reviews of applications using Slate CRM. Develop and implement a social media plan and update the website using the Drupal system. Provide logistical support to special populations in the admissions process. Coordinate Elliott School–hosted yield events, including annual Admitted Student Days and other campus and virtual events. This hybrid position requires three days in‑person and two days remote, with possible evenings, weekends, or holidays. Some travel will be required. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in higher education administration, preferably in admissions. Skilled at reviewing and evaluating graduate‑level applicant credentials. Experience in a school of international affairs. Knowledge of website management, HTML, and social media marketing. Availability to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of student systems, especially Slate or Banner. Some experience with graphic/web design or Drupal.
