A client of AlphaStaffHCM™ is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and grant-related accounting activities for a growing nonprofit organization. Reporting to senior financial leadership, this role will play a key part in supporting month-end close, audit preparation, budgeting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and supporting schedules.
• Monitor grant expenditures and assist with grant reporting requirements.
• Support the annual audit process and provide requested documentation.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
• Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Review transactions for proper coding and allocation across funding sources.
• Maintain accounting records within QuickBooks and other financial systems.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and stronger internal controls.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 2 years of nonprofit accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with grant-funded organizations and government funding sources preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• $75,000 - $80,000 Salary
