Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ICU position requiring a TX or Compact RN license and at least 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Work in a 32-bed Medical ICU or 16-bed Surgical Trauma ICU setting
• Both units staffed with a Charge Nurse and Unit Clerk for support
• Patient ratios are 1:2 for ICU and 1:3 for IMC, with 1:1 ratios for specialized cases such as IABP, CRRT, and Impella
• Night shift schedule from 18:45-07:15
• 13-week assignment length
• Potential to float to acute care units or the ED based on need
• Uses Cerner PowerChart EMR for inpatient documentation

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) required
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• ACLS certification required (AHA), or obtained within 6 months of start
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Diploma from an accredited school of nursing required
• Knowledge of CRRT, CABG, Trauma (TCAR/TNCC), and Impella preferred
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care and implement patient care plans in accordance with established policies and protocols
• Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
• Carry out physician and nursing orders while monitoring and communicating patient condition
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, stressful environment
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate that varies by facility location
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
