The Role - Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Test Lab Supervisor to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.The Test Lab Supervisor delegates projects and production support work; assists in planning, quantifying, scheduling and prioritizing projects; has supervision responsibility over subset of Test Lab personnel.The key responsibilities of the Test Lab Supervisorinclude, but are not limited to:Assists in developing and tracking Test Lab KPI (Key Performance Indicator) metricsWrites and enhances new and existing test proceduresAssists in and expedites Test Lab Continuous Improvement effortsWrites and reviews annual employee evaluations with direct reportsReviews and provides feedback on work instruction submitted by Engineering/Quality/ProcessWrites and reviews technical memos and engineering reportsAssists with failure analysis of Connector assembliesPerforms re-qualifications for Mil/Aero QPL connector productsAssists with qualification testing for products in both Mil/Aero and Commercial productsResearches equipment, procedural, and software enhancementsPlans and performs engineering project assignments related to design, development, evaluation or qualificationWorks under a minimum of supervision, providing technical direction to Lab TechniciansResponsible for portion of Test Lab equipmentOperates in a team-based work settingLocation - Sidney, NY30 Minute Drive from Binghamton, NY20 Minute Drive from Oneonta, NYSalary - $85,000 - $125,000The Person - The key skills and qualities of a Test Lab Supervisor at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering discipline plus a minimum of 2 - 4 years of applicable work experienceAn equivalent of education and qualifying experience is acceptableRequires a thorough working knowledge of engineering principles as applied to electrical connectorsMust be capable of independently representing the companyMust have a good working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office toolsBasic Expertise in programming automatic test equipment is requiredNeeds to be familiar with Military Specifications/Standards and Industry Standard test methods and equipment for connectorsKnowledge of AS400 programs for product information and purchasing requisitionsAble to apply sound engineering techniques and practices in performing assigned tasksJob requires movement between test equipment and some minor liftingOccasional travel (<10%)The Company - With manufacturing sites in Sidney, NY, Mesa, AZ, Nogales, MX, and a Design Center in Pasadena, CA, Amphenol Aerospace Operations has been a leader in designing and manufacturing electrical components for the aviation and commercial airplane industry for over 100 years.Focusing on serving the needs of advanced and challenging market segments, we pride ourselves on our consistent ability to innovate and provide the markets with new creative solutions.Working at Amphenol means you are recognized and valued for your contributions because we believe that our human capital is the most valuable asset we have.
