Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CCU) position requiring at least three years of relevant nursing experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CCU) of a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• Monitors and manages patients requiring cardiac monitors, ventilators, respirators, oxygen pumps, intracranial pressure and central venous pressure equipment
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• No on-call requirements
• No floating requirements
• 5 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required every other holiday

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• EPIC EMR charting experience required
• Experience monitoring cardiac rhythms, ventilators, respirators, and specialized ICU equipment required

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients, including assessment, care planning, and implementation of nursing interventions
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to monitor and adjust specialized equipment and interpret electronic displays such as cardiac rhythms, intracranial pressures, and central venous pressures
• Support ventilated patients with early mobility initiatives
• Utilize hourly rounding, bedside reporting, and whiteboards to maintain strong communication with patients and families
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to be eligible for this position
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days within a 13-week contract
