This business has produced and continues to produce optical systems for many customers in both the commercial and military markets, as well as NASA. One such NASA program supported by this business was New Horizons. L3Harris Space Superiority and Imaging Division Wilmington designed and built the telescope which snapped the first close up pictures of Pluto (). There are many other interesting programs that this business has supported and continues supporting!The Production Planning organization is looking for an individual who can effectively bridge gaps and solve operational problems, in support of meeting customer commitments. In this position, the candidate will coordinate with several internal departments in order to create and maintain an accurate manufacturing execution plan and help ensure that the manufacturing team gets what they need when they need it. It will be important in this role to manage several internal suppliers and coordinate with several internal customers to understand the requirements, limitations, and problems associated with the manufacturing phase of a development program. It is a fast paced, constantly changing, and challenging role!Essential Functions:Developing and maintaining manufacturing execution schedules throughout the planning and execution phases of the manufacturing process.Coordinate with internal suppliers, such as Material Management and Design Engineering to ensure material and labor is available to meet internal and external customer commitments.Prioritizing day to day activities of the manufacturing and material flow processes, measure success and failure to the plan, communicate status to program and management.Develop unique solutions to manufacturing problems by working closely with other Operations functions including Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and technical personnel on other programs.Coordinate with manufacturing shared services Manage internal value add/work in process parts.Coordinate with internal suppliers to ensure build documentation meets program and quality requirements. Support timely analysis and implementation on Engineering Change Orders.Utilize ERP data to identify potential schedule and/or data integrity problems along with metric-based performance.Ability to obtain U.S. Security ClearanceQualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills:Knowledge of inventory, planning, supply chain, and configuration management.APICS, Lean, and Six Sigma training.Experience with ERP implementations and/or Cincom Control and Agile/PDM systems.Experience in a manufacturing environment as an ops manager, production planner, or manufacturing engineer.Possess strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills.Ability to multi-task and communicate cross-functionally.In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Massachusetts is $79,000 - $147,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
