Requirements

To be considered you must have:

• High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s or bachelor’s degree is a plus)
• 1+ year of experience in property management, leasing, customer service, or administration
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office and property management software (AppFolio, Yardi, Buildium, or similar)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Illinois landlord-tenant law
• Experience with student or multifamily housing
• Illinois Leasing Agent license (or willingness to obtain one if required)

Skills
Customer service, problem solving, time management, attention to detail, conflict resolution, and teamwork.

The Role
As Assistant Property Manager, you’ll support the Property Manager in the day-to-day operation of our residential communities. You’ll be a key point of contact for residents, vendors, and the leasing team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily property operations, including inspections, move-ins, and move-outs
• Respond to resident requests and concerns promptly and professionally
• Coordinate maintenance requests and follow up with vendors and staff
• Process rent payments, late notices, and lease renewals
• Prepare and maintain lease files, notices, and resident records
• Help with marketing, showings, and occupancy goals
• Support compliance with Fair Housing laws and company policies
• Cover for the Property Manager as needed

Compensation and Benefits

• $42,000–$52,000 per year , based on experience
