Fire Alarm Service Technician

Position Summary Service Technicians provide safe and efficient service on multiple integrated systems. They resolve technical issues and propose solutions. The role is fire‑alarm focused and may include any of the following: Fire Alarm (Notifier, Gamewell FCI, Silent Knight, Fire Lite, Potter, Fike, EST, Siemens, AutoCall, Mircom); Area of Refuge (Honeywell, Rath, Talkaphone, Cornell); BDA (Bi‑Directional Antenna systems); DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems). What we offer Competitive salary ($25.00 – $45.00 and up based on experience, overtime eligible) Monday – Friday schedule (occasional evening, weekend, and out‑of‑town work) Medical, Dental and Vision insurance for you and your family 401(k) plan with company match PTO and Paid Holidays Opportunities for training and advancement Relevant educational and licensure reimbursement for qualified candidates Health Savings Account (HSA) Life Insurance Employee Assistance Program Sign‑on bonuses for individuals with an active NICET or high‑level manufacturer certifications What you need Two to three years of experience servicing at least one or more of: fire alarm, area of refuge, BDA/DAS, or similar systems Proficiency in following written and verbal instructions, with exceptional attention to detail and communication skills Ability to maintain productivity in the field, set goals, and meet service schedules Competence in reading plans, documents, meters, and discerning colors for safety signage Eagerness for professional development and growth Ability to pass various background checks Reliable transportation, valid State Driver’s License with acceptable driving record for use of company vehicle Desirable but not required: NICET FAS certifications, Notifier manufacturer certification, other fire alarm manufacturer certifications What you will do Install, test, and repair fire alarm, area of refuge, BDA/DAS, or similar systems Troubleshoot system malfunctions and false alarms Program multiple types of systems and test for proper operation Consult with clients on system issues and provide recommendations for repair Use blueprints or building plans to determine proper systems to install/service based on building layout and setting Run wiring and circuits, install hardware, and attach electrical wires Inspect and test systems, batteries, and electrical wiring; make adjustments and repairs as needed Replace malfunctioning hardware when necessary Ensure systems comply with NEC and NFPA fire codes Explain and demonstrate system function and operation to end users Perform other related duties as required Be on call as required Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions Follow design plans for installation start‑up jobs and communicate and document any changes VSC Fire & Security is a drug‑free workplace.
