Quality Control Inspector

Summary/Objective Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing and documenting FAIs, receiving, in-process and final inspection to ensure product conforms to all applicable requirements. Essential Functions Applies advanced knowledge of GD&T principles to ensure products meet requirements. Resolve issues and answer questions from Operators as well as from Inspectors and Engineers. Assist Quality Engineers to develop inspection work instructions and inspection plans. Ensures that DRs are properly written and addressed in a timely manner. Participate or lead special projects related to tooling fixtures and gages. Identifies and drives cost reduction projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing principle. Works closely with the team to determine efficiency gaps, and to implement improvements. Provide inspection support to all departments in the organization, perform receiving, in process and final inspection of parts. Perform other responsibilities as required. Requirements Ability to read and interpret specifications and inspection instructions to determine product conformance. Self‑starter; able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced environment. Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and follow‑through while maintaining a safe, clean and organized workspace. Must be able to interact and communicate both verbally and written, in English, with coworkers at all levels of the organization. Knowledge of mechanical inspection and proficiency in the use of manual & visual inspection equipment: e.g., Calipers, gauges, micrometers, digital indicators, etc. Basic computer skills (including Microsoft Office). Understands production travelers and work instructions. Strong desire to learn and to apply new skills. Supervisory Responsibility None Work Environment This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses shop floor tools and machinery. Physical Demands Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work. Visual acuity (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect machined parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications. Frequently required to sit, stand, move about the shop floor, talk, hear, bend and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to squat or kneel occasionally. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a full‑time hourly position which operates Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm. Travel Occasional (Less than 5%) Required Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent required. Knowledge of blueprint reading. 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and mechanical inspection of precision parts. 4 years of experience with inspection equipment and tools.
