About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Marketing & Communications Officer (CMCO) to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that aligns with the organization's mission, fundraising goals, and community impact. The CMCO will be responsible for driving the enterprise-wide marketing and communications strategy, ensuring brand stewardship, and leading digital innovation to support philanthropic growth. This executive-level role requires a candidate with a minimum of 10 years' progressive leadership experience in marketing, communications, or related fields, preferably within nonprofit or mission-driven organizations. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in strategic leadership, organizational collaboration, and team management, as well as exceptional writing and editorial skills. Key responsibilities for the CMCO include owning and stewarding the organization's brand, leading audience segmentation strategies, and overseeing all aspects of communications and media relations. The role also involves crisis communications and reputation management, as well as fostering a high-performing, collaborative team culture. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, and a strong understanding of the community the organization serves. They should be solutions-oriented, with the ability to combine executive-level strategic thinking with results-oriented execution, and have outstanding relationship-building and interpersonal skills. The CMCO will work closely with the Senior Team, Board leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure that the organization's priorities and reputation are effectively communicated and that marketing and communications efforts are in line with fundraising initiatives.
