Shift Manager – Responsibilities As part of the Subway Team, the Shift Manager focuses on the following core responsibilities: Providing an excellent guest experience. Ensuring that great food is prepared & served. Keeping the restaurant functional, clean and beautiful. Controlling inventory. Scheduling and supervising staff. Being a team player. In addition to typical Sandwich Artist duties, key day‑to‑day tasks include: Training Sandwich Artists on new responsibilities. Scheduling and supervising staff. Practicing inventory control standards. Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift. Completing paperwork as needed. Benefits Brand partnership discounts. Scholarship opportunities. Opportunity to earn university course credits. Hands‑on career experience in a restaurant business. Prerequisites Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a restaurant environment. Essential Functions Strong communication and organizational skills. Physical Requirements Ability to work in any area of the restaurant and operate a computerized Point‑of‑Sale system. Position requires bending, standing and walking entire workday; ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally. Training on roles and responsibilities will be provided.
