Enterprise Solutions Architect for Engineering Platform Services The Enterprise Solutions Architect for Engineering Platform Services will set the architectural direction across all platforms, ensuring a cohesive, scalable, and secure ecosystem. This is a hands‑on role involving coding, design reviews, prototyping, and long‑term decisions. The architect will champion AI‑forward design to embed intelligent automation into platform services in a governed and reusable way. Key Responsibilities Define Architectural Vision: Own end‑to‑end solution architecture across ITSM/ESM, DevOps, and Platform AI; establish reference architectures and design guardrails. Embed AI‑Forward Design: Lead integration of AI and automation into platform services, including LLM‑powered tooling and predictive ops. Accelerate DevOps & Developer Experience: Define SDLC and DevSecOps standards to drive automation, reduce toil, and shorten delivery cycles. Evolve Service Management Platforms: Architect scalable, AI‑ready ITSM/ESM solutions with ServiceNow, including integrations, workflow automation, and self‑service capabilities aligned with ITIL. Lead & Influence: Conduct architectural reviews, guide technology selection, mentor platform engineers, and represent the team in cross‑functional forums and standards bodies. Qualifications 12+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or enterprise architecture. 12+ years of hands‑on software development proficiency; ability to write, review, and refactor production‑quality code in languages such as Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, or Go. 8+ years of experience designing and building ITSM processes using ServiceNow with enterprise‑scale design and integration. 8+ years of experience with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). 8+ years of experience architecting and delivering enterprise‑wide solutions that are secure, observable, and highly available. 5+ years of experience integrating AI or ML capabilities into enterprise platforms or workflows. Deep understanding of AI‑forward design practices, including LLM integration patterns, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and responsible AI principles. Experience designing integrations across heterogeneous systems using REST APIs, event‑driven architectures, and messaging platforms such as Kafka or Azure Service Bus. Strong understanding of platform reliability practices: observability, SLO/SLA frameworks, incident management, and runbooks. Demonstrated leadership in architectural reviews, cross‑functional design decisions, and consensus building. Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex architectural decisions to technical and non‑technical audiences. Comfort operating with high autonomy in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment; strong bias toward action and outcome. Relevant certifications (AWS Solutions Architect Professional, TOGAF, ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect) are a plus. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. Location & Flexibility Primary location: Pleasanton, CA (USA). The role may require up to 50% onsite reporting. We support flexible work with at least 50% of time each quarter spent in the office or field. Compensation & Benefits Base pay range: $187,000USD – $280,600USD. Additional US locations: $157,900USD – $280,600USD.
