Mechanical Coordinator- Beneficiation Plant

Role Summary: The coordinator – Mechanical Maintenance (Beneficiation Plant) is responsible for the effective management and execution of all mechanical maintenance activities across the beneficiation plant. The role ensures high availability and reliability of critical equipment through preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance strategies. The position involves leading maintenance teams, coordinating shutdowns, managing spares, and enforcing safety and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and supervise mechanical maintenance of beneficiation plant equipment including crushers, screens, conveyors, grinding mills, hydrocyclones, thickeners, pumps, classifiers, and slurry pipelines. • Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance plans to ensure optimum equipment performance. • Monitor equipment health and initiate timely interventions to reduce downtime and enhance reliability. • Manage maintenance budgets, planning of spares, tools, and consumables. • Analyze breakdowns and failures, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective measures. • Plan and execute shutdown maintenance activities efficiently within defined time and cost targets. • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, safety norms, and environmental standards. • Supervise and train a team of engineers, supervisors, technicians, and contractors. • Prepare and maintain documentation including maintenance logs, checklists, history cards, and compliance records. • Coordinate with operations, electrical, instrumentation, and utility departments for smooth maintenance workflow. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives like TPM, RCM, and 5S within the maintenance function. • To prepare daily condition monitoring report • To prepare reports on equipment performance, day to day maintenance activities, and downtime analysis. • To Maintain accurate records of mechanical systems, including schematics, manuals, and maintenance logs. Qualifications and Skills: Education and Experience Technical Skills Soft Skills • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Diploma holders with extensive experience may also apply). • Min 10 to 20 to years of experience in iron ore Beneficiation or similar processes within the steel or mining industry. • Comprehensive knowledge of Beneficiation technology, equipment, and maintenance. • Strong hands-on experience within Beneficiation plant Equipment like Crushers, Ball Mills, Dry/Wet vibrating screens, Apron feeders, Slurry pumps, Thickeners, Hydro cyclones, Magnetic separators, Derick screens, Flotation cells, Slurry agitators, Hydraulic systems, Screw Compressors, EOT cranes, Belt Conveyors, Bag filters. • Thorough knowledge in various maintenance concepts including Preventive maintenance, Predictive maintenance and Time-based maintenance. • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for health, safety, and environment. • SAP-PM & MM modules. • Equipment monitoring, trouble shooting, Failure analysis and Diagnosis skills. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders. • Analytical and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges. • Leadership and team management capabilities. Certifications (Optional): • Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM or Process Optimization are a plus. • Certification in Maintenance Planning & Scheduling / Reliability Engineering is a plus. Salary: • $110,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
