Radiology Technician

Thursday and Friday 2pm-10pm (North County); Saturday & Sunday 11am-10pm – rotating weekends between North & South County. Pay: Starts at $26.72/hour. Sign‑On Bonus up to $15,000 paid in full on first pay check. Daily pay available. Shift differentials: $8.50/hr for Friday‑Sunday, $2/hr for Thu‑Fri evening. Relocation assistance available for qualified external candidates. Completion of a radiology program and ARRT‑R within 6 months of hire date is required. Job Summary Takes x‑rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and provides support for the imaging department. Performs plain films, fluoroscopy, portable exams, OR exams, and bone density studies (BD registry required). Responsibilities Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding and provides appropriate educational material. Transports patients to and from clinical areas and verifies patient identity according to policies and procedures. Prepares patients for radiology exams by positioning them for the procedure. Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines; prevents unnecessary radiation exposure. Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within scope of practice and applicable regulations. Observes patients during procedures and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted. Ensures prompt submission of high‑quality images and documents to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient data/history. Maintains proper functioning of equipment; reports potential problems or malfunctions; locks/ tags out equipment when appropriate. Maintains a clean, orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms. May perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT technologist is not on site. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Completion of a Radiology Technology program. Experience: No experience required. Physical Requirements: Constant standing and walking. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (≤20 inches) and far (≥20 feet). Frequent use of hearing and speech for oral communication. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of objects weighing 0–25 lb and moving patients. Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of objects weighing 25–50 lb. Occasional vision use to identify colors. Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Rare kneeling and sitting.
