Senior Director, Site Manufacturing Science and Technology, Cell Therapy Technical Operations

AstraZeneca seeks a Senior Director of Manufacturing Science and Technology to lead cell therapy manufacturing operations across global sites. The role oversees process development, tech transfer, validation, and commercial manufacture while managing technical teams and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute Site MSAT strategy aligned with cell therapy objectives across clinical and commercial stages
• Build and mentor site-based MSAT teams with expertise in cell therapy GMP and process science
• Lead technology transfer, process validation, and commercial supply execution at manufacturing sites
• Implement proactive process analysis and continued process verification strategies across sites
• Represent manufacturing in CMC teams and regulatory submissions; support health authority inspections

Requirements

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in chemical, biochemical, biomedical engineering, bioengineering, biochemistry, biotechnology, or cell biology
• 12+ years progressive experience in cell therapy, biologics, vaccines, or CMC/CMO leadership
• Deep expertise in cell therapy manufacturing processes, GMP operations, and process validation
• Proven experience building, leading, and mentoring high-performing technical teams
• Strong background in site readiness, clinical manufacture, and commercial product support
• Knowledge of regulatory submissions, cGMP, and ICH guidelines

Compensation: $216,996.00 - $325,494.00 base
