Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) – Emergency & Critical Care

Location: Redwood City, California

Compensation

• $32.00–$40.00/hour, based on experience
• Additional $5.50/hou r for hours worked between 6pm–6am
• Sign-on bonus available :
  • Up to $7,000 for Overnight Shift
  • Up to $5,000 f or Swing Shift

Schedule

• Full-time
• Swing and Overnight shifts available
• 4/10 or 3/12 schedules available
• One weekend shift required

SAGE Redwood City is a specialty and emergency veterinary hospital serving the San Francisco Bay Area. Our Emergency & Critical Care team provides advanced care for critically ill and hospitalized patients in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

Responsibilities

Emergency Room Duties

• Triage emergency patients and document findings
• Monitor patient vitals including ECG, blood pressure, SpO2, and temperature
• Administer medications and emergency treatments
• Place IV catheters and assist with procedures
• Perform laboratory diagnostics and patient monitoring
• Assist with emergency surgeries and treatments
• Communicate patient updates with clients and medical team members

Critical Care Duties

• Provide nursing care for critical and post-operative patients
• Administer IV fluids, CRIs, transfusions, and oxygen therapy
• Monitor hospitalized patients and report status changes
• Maintain treatment areas and patient care standards
• Participate in patient rounds and treatment planning

Qualifications

Required

• Active California RVT license
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred

• 3+ years of emergency or critical care experience as an RVT
  OR
• 6+ years of veterinary experience with advanced technical skills

Additional Skills

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of veterinary nursing and patient monitoring
• Ability to perform accurate medical calculations

Applicants with significant relevant veterinary experience may also be considered.
