Personal Injury Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to join their Chicago, Illinois office. This position is ideal for an attorney with 5 to 7 years of plaintiff-side personal injury experience who can manage cases independently while collaborating within a team-oriented environment. The role involves handling cases from intake through resolution, ensuring exceptional client advocacy throughout the litigation process. Responsibilities Manage personal injury cases from inception through settlement or trial. Evaluate claims, assess liability and damages, and develop case strategy. Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents. Conduct legal research and factual analysis related to personal injury matters. Communicate regularly with clients, medical providers, experts, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel. Take and defend depositions and participate in mediations and hearings. Negotiate settlements and advocate for favorable resolutions on behalf of clients. Prepare cases for trial and represent clients in court as required. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the firm’s case management system. Requirements Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Active and good standing membership with the Illinois State Bar. Minimum of 5 to 7 years of personal injury litigation experience (plaintiff-side preferred). Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively. Commitment to client service and professional excellence. Education Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Active membership with the Illinois State Bar. Skills Experience handling depositions, mediations, and hearings. Trial experience preferred but not required. Bilingual proficiency preferred but not required.
