Accounts Payable Accountant Fort Worth,TX, US 6941918 a day ago Job Description Experience: Senior Level Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 per year Job Details Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Accountant to join their accounting team. This position will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounts payable activities while supporting accurate financial reporting and month-end close. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting, hands‑on accounts payable experience, and the ability to manage a high volume of transactions while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Responsibilities Manage the full‑cycle accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment processing Review invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy and proper general ledger coding Process vendor payments through ACH, checks, wires, and other payment methods Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies, duplicate invoices, and payment issues Maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9s and other required documentation Assist with new vendor setup and ongoing vendor maintenance Prepare and maintain accounts payable reconciliations and supporting schedules Assist with month‑end close, including AP accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations Respond to vendor inquiries and work with internal departments to resolve invoice and payment issues Monitor outstanding invoices and ensure payments are processed according to established terms Assist with annual 1099 preparation and reporting Maintain organized documentation and appropriate internal controls Support internal and external audit requests related to accounts payable Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, controls, and efficiencies Assist with additional accounting projects and responsibilities as needed Qualifications Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred Previous accounts payable or general accounting experience required Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, including debits, credits, general ledger coding, and account reconciliations Experience working with accounting or ERP systems Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and basic data analysis Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an accounting team A bit about us Our client is a growing, multi‑location organization undergoing an exciting period of operational and cultural transformation.
