Creative Dining Services is looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our team at Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa! This is more than a traditional administrative position. As an Administrative Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting the daily operations of the dining program while gaining hands-on experience in human resources, employee onboarding, record keeping, accounting support, and general office administration. You'll be a valued member of the Dining Services management team and an important point of contact for employees, students, guests, and visitors. What You'll Do As the Administrative Assistant, you'll provide essential support to the Dining Services management team while helping ensure the office operates efficiently and professionally. Your responsibilities will include: Welcome & Support: Greet employees, students, guests, and visitors in a friendly, professional, and helpful manner. Communication: Answer administrative office calls professionally and ensure calls and messages are directed appropriately. Administrative Support: Assist the management team with typing, filing, copying, emailing, record keeping, errands, and other administrative projects. Human Resources Support: Assist with new employee hiring and onboarding processes, including initial paperwork, screenings, insurance enrollment, employee files, and required documentation. Employee Records: Maintain accurate and organized employee files and ensure required forms are completed and submitted appropriately. Accounting Support: Assist with basic accounting and financial administrative duties, including data entry, record keeping, tracking information, and other financial support as assigned. Team Support: Work closely with the Dining Services management team to support the day-to-day needs of the operation. Confidentiality: Handle employee and business information with professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is organized, dependable, professional, and enjoys working with people. The ideal candidate will have: High School Diploma or equivalent; higher education is helpful Previous administrative experience preferred Interest or experience in Human Resources and/or Accounting is a plus Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills Comfort using a 10-key adding machine and other office equipment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines A positive, professional attitude and willingness to be part of a team Why You'll Love Working at Creative Dining Services At Creative Dining Services, we believe our employees are an important part of what makes our organization successful.
