Role Overview

We are seeking a sharp , customer focused Personal Lines Customer Service Representative

who will serve as the primary point of contact for our long term personal lines clients,

handling a full suite of personal insurance products—including Homeowners, Auto, Renters, Condo, Umbrella, and Specialty Lines.

In this position, you will own the day-to-day lifecycle of our client accounts: handling policy changes, billing inquiry, initial claims intake, preparing new insurance quotes and managing renewal policies all while maintaining absolute data accuracy and delivering exceptional problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Engagement & Experience: Daily engaging with existing clients and prospective policyholders with an upbeat, positive attitude and professional phone etiquette .
• Treat each contact with the customer as an opportunity to reinforce their decision to choose our agency.
• Account & Policy Management: Prepare accurate insurance quotes, process policy changes and endorsements, manage annual policy renewals, and support billing inquiries across home, auto, renters, and specialty accounts.
• Claims Support: Handle initial claims intake, assist clients through claims-related inquiries, collect necessary documentation, and liaise with carriers to ensure a smooth resolution process.
• Proactive Advisory & Cross-Selling: Build trust-based relationships to act as a core part of each client's professional support team; identify client coverage gaps and pitch appropriate additional insurance products.
• Independent Execution & Data Entry: Manage multiple tasks and prioritize your workload independently without close supervision, ensuring all client notes, records, and files are entered efficiently and accurately into our management system.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

• Active NJ Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance License .
• Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience servicing Homeowners and Auto policies.
• Excellent verbal communication, excellent listening skills.
• High attention to detail with proven data accuracy and organization.
• Effective time management and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, Microsoft Word and Excel .

Preferred:

• 3+ years of customer service experience in an independent insurance agency or carrier environment.
