Step into a rewarding role supporting students with visual impairments across grades K-12 as a contract Visually Impaired Teacher. In this itinerant position, you’ll work with approximately 10 students across elementary, middle, and high school settings, collaborating with staff and families to ensure each student receives individualized instruction and accommodations for success.

You’ll join a dedicated network of educators and travel among schools, delivering direct services in line with IEP goals and helping students access the curriculum in meaningful ways. This contract extends through June 11th, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, ensuring ongoing support and consistency for your students.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Hold a current Maryland TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) license
• Experience working with children or adolescents who are visually impaired in an educational setting
• Familiarity with Braille instruction, assistive technology, and adaptive strategies for students with visual needs
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with staff, families, and related service teams
• Reliable transportation for itinerant travel across multiple school sites

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and services to approximately 10 K-12 students with visual impairments
• Assess student needs, develop and implement IEP goals, and document progress regularly
• Consult with classroom teachers and school staff to adapt materials and learning environments
• Advise on assistive technology solutions and teach students to use them effectively
• Partner with families to support student learning and advocacy
