If you're ready to be a part of a team that values personalized service, exceptional cleanliness, and a strong connection to our community, we invite you to apply and help us create a beloved destination for all who visit.Job SummaryThe Line Cook is responsible for meal preparation and assigned kitchen duties.Job DutiesPlan and prepare various food items and meals for hotel restaurant and catering functions, following proper food handling and safety guidelinesUnderstand food cost and portion control without sacrificing qualityAssist with quality and presentation issues, cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and the restaurant when necessaryAccommodate guests' special requestsMaintain clean work area, practicing "clean as you go" policyAssist with inventory, ordering and receiving of all Food & Beverage items as directedAssist with any reports as required (inventory, food costs, beverage costs, etc.)Maintain sanitation and safety standards with anyone entering the kitchen areaCoordinate catering reservations and Food preparation with Sales Department and assure guest satisfactionFollow up on menu items and cost any special menu requestsAssist with training and monitoring kitchen personnel in the performance of their duties as necessaryWatch for safety hazards and report them immediately to your Department SupervisorPerform other duties as directed, developed or assignedMinimum RequirementsHigh school graduate or equivalentMinimum one year hospitality or restaurant food service experience requiredAble to work with little or no supervisionRead, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendorsAbility to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalismFrequently need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, twisting, and climbingHave frequent need to perform standing and walking activitiesConstant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterityPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Pushing and pulling food supplies from 5 to 25 lbs. as needed. Lifting sacks of potatoes, onions, ice carvings 2 to 3 times daily of up to 50 lbs. Fine skillful manipulation needed to do first class presentation and taste.
