Senior Property AccountantThe Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for supporting accounting and financial reporting for RPM. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, cash management and the general ledger for a portfolio of properties.Responsibilities:Prepare monthly financial information in accordance with deadlines/requirements while adhering to accounting policies and procedures and maintaining effective internal controlsPrepare financials for multiple clients with different reporting requirementsEffectively communicate and collaborate with clients and property management in a timely manner while providing exceptional customer serviceRequires the use of detailed technical accounting skills to assess appropriateness of accounting treatmentRequires cash flow management to pay the property expenses and to predict the need for fundingRecords journal entries & accruals, reconciles income, and documents prepaid rent in industry specific softwareReconcile all balance sheet accounts monthlyPerform bank reconciliations as appropriatePerform cash disbursement through wires and checks, prepares invoicing and inter-company collections, and maintains a daily cash balanceAct as a mentor to help train new or less experienced accounting staffParticipate in the preparation & maintenance of written policies & procedures for functions/duties performedPerform other duties and tasks as assigned by Supervisor or Executive TeamEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience2+ Years of Property Management Experience Preferred or equivalentPreferred Industry Specific Software: Yardi, MRI, and/or RealPage/OnesiteMicrosoft OfficePhysical Requirements:May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of timeMust be able to read documents, computer screens and dataMust be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computerMay occasionally be required to lift or carry items such as files or office supplies weighing up to 15 poundsMust be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office equipmentWork Environment:This is a hybrid role, requiring the associate to work in one of our corporate or regional offices 4 days per weekThe office is an open setting which may include bright lights, constant noises and distractionsJoin RPM Living and experience exceptional benefits designed to enhance your life.Weekly pay for all associates working onsite at an apartment communityComprehensive healthcare coverage available for all full-time, regular associatesEmployer-paid employee assistance, mental health, and wellness programsAncillary benefits including critical illness, hospital indemnity, and accident insurance401(k) with robust company matchOpportunities for professional development, career growth, and role-based learning plansDiversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) and multiple Employee Resource Groups (ERG)Paid time off plus floating holidays and volunteer daysDiscounted Perks (Costco membership, movie tickets, health & wellness, entertainment & travel discounts)The anticipated salary range is $65,000 - $85,000 annually.
