Azure Cloud Network Engineer

Azure Cloud Network Engineer
Location: Remote (CST/EST highly preferred no California candidates)
Seeking an experienced Azure Network Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on Azure networking experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise designing, implementing, and supporting Azure networking solutions, including Azure Virtual Network Manager (AVNM), Azure Virtual WAN (vWAN), Azure Front Door, ExpressRoute, Site-to-Site (S2S) VPNs, Point-to-Site (P2S) VPNs, and VNet peering .
Candidates should have experience with Azure Landing Zones (ALZ) , Azure Active Directory (AAD)/Entra ID , and cloud identity management. Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps , CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is required, including tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, Azure Bicep, GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps .
Summation:
- Design and implement Azure cloud networking solutions within a hybrid on prem/Azure environment
- Own Azure Landing Zone strategy, implementation, and ongoing network monitoring
- Lead VNet design, routing, traffic management, and modernization efforts
- Support integration and migration initiatives, including Azure Front Door
- Collaborate closely with development teams to align cloud infrastructure with application needs
- Partner with the Azure Systems Administrator/Engineer on day to day cloud operations
- Support networking related security needs, including firewalls, ACLs, policies, and identity considerations
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience as a Senior Cloud or Cloud Networking Engineer
- Strong background in cloud networking, with Azure experience
- Experience spanning both on prem and azure cloud networking (cloud heavy focus)
- Expertise in:
- VNet architecture
- vWAN Virtual WAN
- Routing and traffic management
- Cloud network monitoring and modernization strategies
- Solid understanding of network security concepts, including firewalls, ACLs, policies, and identity management
- Azure networking certifications or related degree preferred (AZ 700, AZ 305 are a plus but not required)
