Registered Nurse Operating Room

Job Summary:

The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides specialized perioperative nursing care to surgical patients, ensuring safe and efficient procedures within a fast-paced environment. They coordinate patient care before, during, and after surgery, adhering to industry standards and organizational policies.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans based on comprehensive assessments.
  
  
• 
  Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions throughout the perioperative process.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support.
  
  
• 
  Ensure all preoperative documentation, including consent and test results, is complete before surgery.
  
  
• 
  Respond promptly to emergencies by applying ACLS, PALS, and other critical care protocols.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families on perioperative procedures, considering cultural, psychosocial, and literacy factors.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an unencumbered RN license in Colorado or a Compact State.
  
  
• 
  Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of hire.
  
  
• 
  Obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire.
  
  
• 
  Achieve Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or ENPC certification within one year of hire.
  
  
• 
  Have a minimum of two years of hospital nursing experience; prior OR experience preferred.
