Litigation Associate Attorney — 1–3 Years of Experience Position: Full-time, on-site Base Salary: $110,000–$135,000, commensurate with experience About Kemeny, Ramp & Renaud Kemeny, Ramp & Renaud, LLC is a New Jersey law firm with a substantial civil litigation practice. The Position We are seeking an associate attorney with at least one year of civil litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas: Personal injury litigation; Estate, probate, or fiduciary litigation; Guardianship proceedings; Business / commercial litigation; General equity or other Chancery matters; or Candidates with strong, transferable civil litigation experience in other practice areas are also encouraged to apply. Depending on experience, the associate’s responsibilities will include: Evaluating claims and developing case strategy; Conducting legal research and preparing written analyses; Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery demands and responses, and other litigation documents; Managing discovery and communicating with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and the courts; Preparing for and participating in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, trials, and appeals; and Working collaboratively with other attorneys and staff while assuming increasing responsibility for matters. The position is based in our East Brunswick office and includes appearances in courts throughout New Jersey. Required Qualifications Admission to the New Jersey bar and good standing; At least one year of civil litigation experience; Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills; Careful attention to detail, deadlines, and case management; Strong interpersonal and client-communication skills; Sound professional judgment; and The ability to manage multiple assignments and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Attorneys completing a New Jersey judicial clerkship involving a substantial civil docket are also encouraged to apply. Preferred Experience The following experience is valuable but not required: Drafting substantive or dispositive motions; Arguing motions or appearing in court; Preparing matters for trial; Participating in mediation or arbitration; Drafting appellate briefs; and Independently managing clients or litigation matters. We recognize that strong junior attorneys may not yet have experience in every phase of litigation. Candidates with excellent writing skills, solid litigation fundamentals, and the ability to grow into greater responsibility are encouraged to apply. Compensation and Benefits The anticipated base salary range is $110,000 to $135,000, depending on experience, qualifications, writing ability, and the candidate’s capacity to manage litigation matters. Exceptional candidates may be considered above the stated range.
