Assistant Manager Job Description: The Assistant Manager is responsible for operating all equipment, stocking ingredients from delivery area to storage and work area, preparing all products, using proprietary technology, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory and completing associated paperwork, cleaning equipment and facility approximately daily, orienting new hires and providing ongoing training, conducting inventory counts, scheduling and staffing the store, running food and labor during shifts, and maintaining effective communication with team and customers. Job Duties Operate all equipment Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk‑in cooler Prepare all products Use proprietary technology Receive and process telephone orders Take inventory and complete paperwork Clean equipment and facility approximately daily Orient new hires and provide ongoing training Conduct inventory counts Schedule and staff the store Run food and labor during shifts Lead an effective team with good communication skills Comprehend and give correct written instructions Communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders over the phone and in person Essential Functions and Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator) Must be able to make correct monetary change Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately with speed Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen Work Conditions Work is performed in a fast‑paced environment with varying temperatures, from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F or higher in some work areas. Employees may be exposed to food odors, cornmeal dust, fumes, and hot surfaces up to 500°F. Tasks include standing, walking, carrying, pushing, and occasional climbing. Handling bulk deliveries up to 50 pounds and lifting items up to 72 in. high is required. The role also involves frequent hand‑eye coordination and repetitive hand use for seasoning, dough handling, and packaging.
