As the Design Director , you will lead the creative vision, product assortment, and commercial strategy for assigned home product categories. Sitting at the intersection of creativity and retail strategy, this key leadership role brings compelling, trend-forward products to life while driving category growth. You will lead and mentor a talented design and product development team, collaborating closely with Sales, Sourcing, and Production to deliver market-relevant assortments that captivate major retail buyers and consumers alike. Responsibilities Define seasonal product strategies and creative themes that blend emerging market trends, consumer insights, and commercial whitespace. Oversee line building, category mix, and pricing structures to balance aesthetic innovation with high-margin, sellable product lines. Guide the creation of original prints, patterns, textures, and fabrications, ensuring tech packs and construction specs maintain design integrity through production. Partner with Sales to lead showroom presentations and buyer line reviews, effectively articulating the design story and merchandising strategy behind each collection. Mentor and grow a cross-functional design and merchandising team, managing project timelines and workflows to ensure seamless, on-time collection launches. Translate market trends, competitive benchmarks, and pricing targets into cohesive design solutions that maintain high aesthetic and quality standards while meeting target price points. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field. 10+ years of design experience within home textiles, home décor, furniture, soft goods, or related consumer product categories. Proven experience leading design teams and managing multiple product development cycles. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop. Strong understanding of color theory, print and pattern development, material selection, and trend forecasting. Strong technical knowledge of product construction, materials, sourcing, and manufacturing processes.
