The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. Location Asheville, NC Position Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients in a high-volume setting. This position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, evaluating patient needs and implementing appropriate interventions. Conduct triage assessments and prioritize patient care based on acuity level. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using the Cerner system. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Participate in patient and family education to promote health and wellness. Unit Specifics Number of Beds: 101 Patient Ratios: 4:1 typically, up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds Staff Composition: Includes nursing staff, techs, and unit clerks available during day and night shifts Type of Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors Documentation System: Cerner Floating Policy: Flexible to all sections within the Emergency Department Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an emergency room setting. Experience in a Level 2 trauma center or high-volume Emergency Department is preferred. Must possess current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS upon hire; ENPC within 90 days of hire. Demonstrated teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback. Flexibility to work in various areas of the Emergency Department.
