Occupational Therapist-PRN

Job Title: Occupational Therapist for Occupational Therapy Department: Rehabilitation Services Reports To: Director of Rehabilitation Services FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Hours: PRN Shift: Days (Monday - Friday - As Needed) Here at Franklin County Medical Center, we have a vision: be the premier healthcare provider and facility of choice for the community. A non-profit critical access hospital, we house 20 beds in our acute care facility and 35 bedsin our nursing facility. With three operating rooms, a procedure room, and advanced technology, we provide excellent care for our surgical patients. Our recently constructed 24,000 square foot medical office provides valuable access, accommodations, and services to the community. FCMC was recognized as one of the "Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals" in the nation for four consecutive years from 2017-2020. Job Description Reports to the Director of Rehab Services and/or the designated Site Leader. Assumes responsibility and accountability for the planning, provision and coordination of all aspects of direct patient care for a designated group of patients/clients in accordance with established facility and departmental policies and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality care. The therapist works cooperatively with other patient team personnel in maintaining standards of professional occupational therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork. The staff therapist using independent judgment also assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery of occupational therapy services provided by certified occupational therapist assistants and rehabilitation technicians/support staff and may be assigned to orient staff and students and to assume the duties and responsibilities of the team leader in the absence of that individual. The staff therapist participates in performance improvement and program development activities, which includes providing input into the budgetary planning process, contributing to cost effectiveness of services, and maintaining positive relations with all customers. The staff therapist will also participate in special department/clinic functions as assigned by the Director of Rehab Services. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment on this job. Supervision of certified occupational therapist assistants, rehabilitation technicians/support staff, students and volunteers assigned to Occupational Therapy, in accordance with state practice act, regulatory, and payor guidelines. Distinguishes between low and high priority activities Makes effective use of discretionary time Meets established productivity standards Other duties may be assigned Minimum Qualifications Licensed in the state of Idaho Graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapy School Must be a graduate of a professional training program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association. Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percent. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Knowledgeable in internet navigation using Netscape, Google Chrome or Internet Explorer and basic computer skills to utilize email, and open and close documents. Assess educational needs of the patient, family, caregiver or significant other and provide education to meet those needs. Communicates/collaborates with patient, family, caregivers, significant other and other members of the healthcare team to promote optimal benefit of care. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and correct application of clinical techniques, procedures and programs for clinical setting and patient/client populations served. Displays appropriate technical knowledge and application of available modalities and other equipment. Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients/clients, visitors and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved security and safety standards. Frequently able to move/push up to 35 pounds, occasionally able to lift/carry/move/push up to 100 pounds.
