Sales and Marketing representative – Alexandria Times We are looking for a motivated sales person to get out in the Alexandria community and sell ads to our weekly print newspaper, weekly digital newsletter, and website (which is undergoing a transformation and will soon be state-of-the-art). While much of the work can be done from home, this person will be expected to attend networking events, meet with prospective clients in person, and help market the Alexandria Times by getting residents to sign up for our weekly newsletter. (Extra compensation will be attached to this endeavor.) The Alexandria Times is one of the best weekly newspapers in Virginia. We are known for our investigative reporting, and have won many press awards for these stories. We also provide in-depth coverage of local issues, our local government, feature stories on local residents, and are in the process of expanding and enhancing our sports section. From a weekly crossword puzzle to a monthly schools section to business coverage, our content provides sales reps with an array of opportunities for advertising sales. Our preference is an experienced sales rep, but we will consider people with other backgrounds so long as they’re motivated and willing to meet with prospective clients in person and energetically work to make sales.
