Role Overview This pivotal role has been created to support the organisation's ambitious expansion plans and ongoing projects. The Senior Procurement Manager will shape and lead procurement strategies, ensuring optimal sourcing practices, cost efficiencies, and supplier relationships. Playing a key part in the strategic planning and operational execution, this position offers a fantastic opportunity to influence procurement functions at a high level within a forward-thinking company. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies for project development, construction, and operational phases. Lead vendor selection processes, conduct negotiations, and manage contractual agreements with key suppliers. Establish category management plans for major expenditure areas including drilling, stimulation, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), and O&M (Operations & Maintenance). Collaborate with technical teams to ensure procurement scopes, specifications, and schedules are optimised and aligned with project timelines. Drive initiatives focussed on cost reduction, value engineering, and maintaining commercial discipline throughout the supply chain. Define procurement policies, approval processes, and competitive tendering frameworks to support scalable, repeatable procurement operations. Oversee management of long-lead procurement items, mitigate delivery risks, and monitor supplier performance for continuous improvement. Engage with finance teams to ensure budget alignment and with legal teams to negotiate and finalise contract terms and risk mitigation strategies. Build and evolve the procurement function into a streamlined, resilient system aligned with organisational growth plans. Proven experience in establishing or enlarging procurement functions within project delivery, infrastructure, or large engineering environments. Strong sourcing and negotiation skills, particularly within categories such as drilling, EPC, or similar high-value spend areas. Solid understanding of commercial contract management, scope definition, bid analysis, and change management. Familiarity with procurement processes integration with engineering, project management, operations, legal, and finance functions. Track record of implementing cost control initiatives, supplier performance management, and long-term value creation. Experienced in developing repeatable sourcing procedures and approval mechanisms. Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, evolving project environments, maintaining sound judgment on spend centralisation versus flexibility.
