Electrical Project Engineer
Your Opportunity

T. Baker Smith is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Project Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on technical design, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and taking on increasing responsibility in project delivery and leadership.

As an Electrical Project Engineer, you'll work alongside Project Managers, engineers, designers, and other technical professionals to develop practical, high-quality solutions for our clients. You'll have the opportunity to contribute throughout the project lifecycle-from design development and technical analysis to coordination, quality control, and final delivery.
What You'll Do

Lead Technical Design & Engineering

• Perform and lead technical tasks for electrical engineering projects.
• Develop and refine design concepts in collaboration with Project Managers and project teams.
• Apply engineering principles, industry standards, codes, and design software to develop effective solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.

Develop High-Quality Project Deliverables

• Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, reports, calculations, and design analyses.
• Develop quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and established quality expectations.
• Participate in quality control reviews to help ensure accurate and complete deliverables.

Collaborate Across Teams

• Work closely with multidisciplinary project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and internal team members to keep projects moving forward.
• Participate in project, client, and public meetings as needed.
• Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Support Successful Project Delivery

• Assist Project Managers with the development of project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Monitor project progress and communicate changes in scope, schedule, workload, or technical requirements.
• Help identify potential project challenges and contribute to solutions.
• Support the successful delivery of projects in accordance with client expectations and firm standards.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 0-5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer ( P.E. ) license or ability to become licensed.
• Strong electrical design and technical problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of applicable engineering codes, standards, and industry practices.
• Proficiency with relevant engineering and design software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex technical assignments.
• A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Work Environment

This position includes a combination of office and field work. Field assignments may involve exposure to outdoor conditions and require walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional travel, overnight stays, evening meetings, or weekend commitments may be required depending on project needs.

This is a full-time position , generally requiring 40+ hours per week.
