Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to own payroll processing and support core HR operations across a multi-entity organization of 300+ employees. This role is responsible for accurate, compliant, and on-time bi-weekly payroll. It also supports benefits administration, onboarding, compliance reporting, and employee communications. The ideal candidate knows wage and hour law well, handles confidential information with discretion, and is comfortable managing several priorities at once. This person enjoys helping employees and cares about getting the details right. On a regular basis, the Payroll Specialist will: Process bi-weekly payroll for 300+ employees across multiple companies, including timecards, paid time off, new hires, terminations, garnishments and child support, uniform deductions, and 401(k) contributions Prepare Davis-Bacon certified payroll and support payroll-related insurance audits Ensure payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local wage and hour requirements Manage new hire onboarding through ADP or a comparable HRIS Administer employee benefit plans, including enrollments, changes, and deductions Prepare compliance reports, including OSHA, ACA, and EEO Coordinate H-2A and H-2B documentation, processes, and employee housing Train employees on HRIS use and payroll-related procedures Support employee communications such as the monthly newsletter and employee surveys Assist with employee handbook updates to maintain compliance Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong working knowledge of payroll compliance and wage and hour law Proficiency with ADP or a comparable HRIS, and Microsoft Office (Excel in particular) Understanding of HR principles and procedures Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive employee and payroll information High accuracy and attention to detail under recurring deadlines Friendly, service-oriented approach to supporting employees at all levels Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience Experience: 3 to 5 years of payroll processing experience using ADP or a comparable HRIS; multi-entity payroll experience preferred Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States Screening: Background check required.
