Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic

Job Overview Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America's largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic. The role performs heavy‑duty mechanical repair under general supervision, receiving on‑the‑job training in a development program to achieve Service Journeyman status. Responsibilities Perform and/or assist in the performance of general mechanical duties. Gain experience by working on engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune‑up, and general maintenance with minimal supervision. Work on major components with close supervision. Perform troubleshooting on minor problems. Attend training sessions and meetings. Maintain a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools. Advise the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary. Follow safe work practices and procedures, use safety equipment when required, respond to suggestions for working safely, and seek assistance when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Safety‑Sensitive This position has been designated as a safety‑sensitive position. Qualifications CDL preferred. Minimum three years hands‑on experience or graduate of vocational courses. A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required. Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
