We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to support a public accounting firm serving clients in Minnesota. This part-time opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented tax specialist who can provide strong technical guidance, manage seasonal workload demands, and contribute hands-on expertise across business tax matters. The role offers heavier hours during peak filing periods and a reduced schedule outside of busy season, making it well suited for someone seeking flexibility without stepping away from complex tax work.
Responsibilities:• Lead the preparation and review of corporate tax filings, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission for a range of client entities.
• Oversee annual income tax provision work and help clients understand the tax impact of financial activity throughout the year.
• Use CCH ProSystem Fx and related tax software to manage engagements, organize filings, and maintain efficient workflow during high-volume periods.
• Support sales and use tax compliance by reviewing obligations, preparing filings, and resolving tax-related questions as they arise.
• Advise clients on entity setup considerations and tax implications associated with forming or restructuring business organizations.
• Manage fluctuating workloads by providing consistent support during busy season and maintaining ongoing client service needs in the off-season.
• Review tax documents, identify planning opportunities, and communicate practical recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain awareness of current tax regulations and apply changes appropriately across engagements and client deliverables.• At least 5 years of public tax experience, including substantial work with business and corporate returns.
• Demonstrated background in annual income tax provision preparation and review.
• Proficiency with CCH ProSystem Fx and familiarity with tax technology used in public accounting environments.
• Experience handling sales tax matters and corporate tax compliance for multiple clients.
• Knowledge of entity formation concepts and the related tax considerations for different business structures.
• Ability to work independently in a part-time role while managing deadlines that intensify during busy season.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and clear communication skills when working with clients and internal teams.
